  井筒 俊彦 (イヅツ トシヒコ)
  井筒 俊彦
  1914年東京・四ツ谷生まれ。1937年慶應義塾大学英語英文学科卒業、同大学文学部助手。1941年『アラビア思想史』、49年『神秘哲学』。1959年から2年間にわたって中近東・欧米でイスラーム研究に従事。1961年マギル大学客員教授、69年同大学イスラーム学研究所テヘラン支部教授、75年イラン王立研究所教授。
  1979年イラン革命激化のためテヘランから日本に帰国。
  著書に、『意識と本質』（1980-82年）、『意味の深みへ』（1985年）、『コスモスとアンチコスモス』（1989年）、『超越のことば』（1991年）、絶筆『意識の形而上学』（1993年）など代表著作を発表。1993年北鎌倉の自宅にて逝去（78歳）。
