  本書は日本語の失文法に見られる助詞「が」、「を」、「に」、「から」の誤用について、主に授受動詞や受動文を用いた産出実験結果に基づき、認知言語学の視点から説明を試みる。また、それらと類似した幾つかの現象（子供の言語獲得過程で見られる助詞の誤用、口語体における助詞の省略、健常者の言い誤りに見られる助詞の誤用）を取り上げ、失文法の場合と比較することから見いだせる共通性と相違が何に起因するのかを考察する。
