  Kenji Miyazawa (ケンジ　ミヤザワ)
  Kenji Miyazawa (1896-1933) was born into a wealthy family in northern Japan and grew up questioning the class disparities of his time. He became a devout Buddhist and teacher of poor farmers, writing poems and children's stories depicting the interconnectedness of things in a fantasy-world setting. He published few books before his death at the age of 37 but achieved wide acclaim posthumously, including for the widely-adapted novella Night on the Galactic Railroad.
  
  Yasuko Sakuno (ヤスコ　サクノ)
  Yasuko Sakuno is a manga artist based in Kyoto. She is the author of the series The Conditions for Being a Princess, the cat essay collection I Get Along Without You Very Well, and the office romance Why Me?
